U.S. venues can apply for $ 16 billion in pandemic aid starting April

An “urgently needed lifeline for live locations” is coming.

The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant ((YOURS) will shortly begin funding over $ 16 billion worth of pandemic relief for venues across the United States. Venues will be able to apply for the long-awaited financial grant through the Small Business Administration (SBA) starting April.

This funding could potentially reimburse up to 45% of the gross income of a given venue. The reported $ 2 billion of the fund is reserved for venues of up to 50 full-time employees, with a maximum grant of $ 10 million.

SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman explains:

The SBA knows these venues are vital to the American economy and knows how badly they have been as they were among the first to close. This vital economic aid provides a much-needed lifeline for live venues, museums, cinemas, and more.

Applications will be opened on April 8 via the System for Award Management (SAM) online portal. The list of conditions of participation can be found here.
