TV Ratings: March Madness Spillover, 60 Minute Fuel CBS Sunday Win

In the latest TV ratings, the CBS lineup led the way in both total viewers and the Sunday demo, in part due to half an hour of March Madness spillover.

Sixty minutes resulted in the Syracuse-West Virginia matchup (which drew 10 million viewers and a rating of 2.0 from 7:00 am to 7:30 am), 7 million (the night’s largest non-sports audience) and a rating of 0.8 (which ties the American idol to ABC for demo win).

At ABC, AFV (5 mil / 0.6) was in decline, while Idol (5.5 mil / 0.8) and the Millionaire Season Finale (2.9 mil / 0.4) remained stable.

The eventful episode of Batwoman (548K / 0.1, read post mortem and revise the news) and Charmed (346K / 0.1) from CW each dropped a handful of viewers while they were in the demo.

NBC’s Ellen’s Game of Games (1.7 mil / 0.3) and Good Girls (1.5 mil / 0.3, read post mortem) were stable.

Most recently the finale of Fox’s Cherries Wild (1.4 mil / 0.2), Bless the Harts (844K / 0.2), the 700th episode of The Simpsons (1.2 mil / 0.4), The Great North (950K / 0.3) and Bob’s Burgers (1 mil / 0.4)) were all down.

The Live + Same Day numbers given in our rating column do not reflect the overall performance of a show, as delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms as well as display outside the home is increasingly used. Instead, these numbers (Nielsen Fast Nationals, unless labeled finals) aim to merely illustrate trends or superlatives. Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor.
