Since the collaboration between Marvel and Netflix ended, the rights to Daredevil, The Punisher and Luke Cage have finally returned to Marvel Studios. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of some of these characters, and while no official announcements have been made yet, it is believed that they will show up in one of the many projects on the MCU’s horizon. Unfortunately, according to Luke Cage star Mike Colter, if the character does, he’s unlikely to return.
The actor confirmed that he had had no conversations “at all” wonder since the show was canceled, and that he rarely thinks of repeating the role of Harlem’s bulletproof hero.
“I have to say, I rarely think about what could or will be. I know the fans are excited to see something with the character. I know I founded him and it was an honor to do that but i don’t know what the future holds, i’m in my way of doing the bad right now and a couple of movies on break, if something happens i’d like to have a chat with them but right now i am it doesn’t make me hold my breath and be happy either way. It was a good run. ”
Luke Cage follows the development of the beloved Marvel character as he becomes a hero and seeks to rebuild a quiet life in Harlem, New York. The series starring Mike Colter is a grainy, action-packed drama that follows the title character after he is penetrated by superpower and unbreakable skin through a sabotaged experiment. While both seasons of Luke Cage never quite peaked at some of Netflix’s other comic book projects, they were received well by both audiences and critics alike. Colter’s central accomplishment has been viewed as a solid portrayal of the character, and there will no doubt be many Marvel fans disappointed to learn that he is unlikely to return.
Netflix pulled the plug on the show in October 2018, and while the rights to the character have now reverted to Marvel, there were reportedly contractual obligations between them and the streaming giant that meant Luke would not revisit Cage for a period of time could be. Thankfully, that ended earlier this year, which means the Hero-for-Hire can now be used in future projects.
Of course, Luke Cage isn’t the only Marvel character still in limbo after his appearance on Netflix. Fans are shouting for Charlie Cox ‘Daredevil to join the MCU group. While the actor has poured cold water on the idea of his return in the past, rumors persist that his version of The Man Without Fear will have a role in the upcoming Spider-Man 3, an outcome that becomes more and more plausible with everyone It seems like every single character ever created will make an appearance in the upcoming Dreiquel.
Should Daredevil be the only one left of Spider-Man 3, it’s also possible that attorney Matt Murdock’s alter ego appears in the upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney +, with Kevin Feige teasing, “Da Jennifer Walters is an attorney who specializes in special superhero litigation. You never know which Marvel characters will show up from episode to episode. “
Mike Colter Next up is the thriller Fatale alongside Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy. This comes with the kind permission of Comingsoon.net.
