The Weeknd was announced to star on the 2021 Super Bowl Halftime Show. “We all grow up with the greatest acts in the world playing the Super Bowl, and you can only dream of being in that position,” the After Hours singer said in a statement. “I am humble, honored and thrilled to be the center of this infamous stage this year.”
Last year’s halftime show starring Shakira and Jennifer Lopez was the first to be co-produced by Roc Nation with Pepsi. The Super Bowl LV will take place on February 7, 2021.
The Weeknd recently joined Maluma for a new version of “Hawái”. He was the co-executive producer of Oneohtrix Point Nie’s latest album, Magic Oneohtrix Point Never, which featured on the song “No Nightmares”.
