A Coronavirus (COVID-19) The vaccine is expected to be widely available to Americans by June 2021.
Earlier this week Pfizer and BioNTech The United States had agreed to buy an additional wave of 100 million doses, bringing the total COVID-19 vaccine order to 200 million.
The government stands ready to pay $ 1.95 billion for the second round of vaccinations – 70 million of which is due by June 30 and the remaining 30 million by July 31.
The FDA has approved the Pfizer / BioNTech emergency vaccine as well as a similar vaccine from Modern.
Alex Azar, US Department of Health Secretary explained in a press release:
Securing more cans from Pfizer and BioNTech for delivery in the second quarter of 2021 will further expand our offering of cans across Operation Warp Speed’s portfolio. This new federal purchase may give Americans even more confidence that we have enough supplies to vaccinate any American who wants by June 2021.
