A week after his COVID-19 battle went public, The Good Doctor’s Richard Schiff offers a cautiously optimistic update on his recovery.
“Thank you all for so much love and support,” the actor tweeted early Monday. “I’m in the hospital on remdesivir, oxygen and steroids. [and] shows some improvement every day. “
Schiff also shared an update on the condition of his wife and Good Doctor co-star Sheila Kelley, who is also battling the coronavirus. “Sheila is at home and is better,” he wrote, “but still pretty sick.”
Thank you for so much love and support. You make it so much easier @thesheilakelley and me.
I am in the hospital on remdesivir, oxygen and steroids which show some improvement every day. Sheila is home and doing better, but she’s still pretty sick. Love you all. https://t.co/sWjOetsgUP

On November 10, Schiff announced that he and Kelley had tested positive for deadly viruses. “This has been the most bizarre week of our lives,” he tweeted. “We are determined to find a way to health again. We are looking for everyone who is struggling with this cause. All the best from here. “
In a subsequent Instagram post, Kelley responded to Schiff’s announcement. “We are quarantined in our Vancouver home and recovering,” she said. “This virus is a slippery sucker. One minute you are almost fine and the next you cannot catch your breath. Symptoms change radically daily and even hourly. “
As we reported last week, The Good Doctor’s shooting schedule was adjusted to accommodate Schiff’s temporary medical vacation and there was no noticeable impact on production.
