Taika Waititi, Zac Efron, and others cast votes to save Ralph

The star-studded stop-motion short film is part of the campaign to ban animal testing.

Humane Society International (HSI) aims to combat animal testing with the new short film Save Ralphand the teaser trailer just fell. Taika Waititi, Zac Efron, Ricky Gervais, Olivia Munn, Tricia Helfer and Pom Klementieff will be voicing their stop-motion production, which will be released on April 6th. Spencer Susser (Hesher, I love Sarah Jane, the captain) wrote and directed the play with HSI, Jeff Vespa and Andy Gent‘s Arch Model Studio is co-producer.

In the teaser, Waititi speaks to Ralph, the talking bunny, who appears on the screen as a representative of the rabbit population with a bandaged ear and puffy red eyes. Ralph explains that he is blind in his right eye and “can’t hear anything but ringing now” from his right ear. Then he mimics the annoying noise he hears all the time. According to the deadline, the project was conceived as part of the #SaveRalph campaign to ban cosmetic testing on animals. Waititi took to Twitter to praise the film and said, “This is a cool thing that is coming soon. If you don’t see it and love it, then you hate animals and we can no longer be friends. #SaveRalph ”

HSI managed to put together a number of A-listeners to help the cause. Waititi is a celebrated director, actor, producer, and screenwriter best known for his Academy Awards Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok, What we do in the shadows and more. Efron has become a mega-star since its inception High school musicaland surprised fans when he turned to the traitor as Ted Bundy in 2019 Extremely bad, shockingly bad and mean. Comedian and actor Gervais is known for his risky stand-up routines and his starring role in The office. As for Munn, she played along in The robber, X-Men: Apocalypse and Buddy games. Klementieff is best known for playing Mantis Guardian of the Galaxy and Helfer is a television actress who is known for Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer.
