The Blacklist Season 7 Episode 17 ‘Brothers’ Sneak Peek
There’s a new Arrowverse show in town: Superman and Lois. The man of steel and his mistress will join the CW cast in early 2021 after being first featured on Supergirl.
Founded by former Flash showrunner Todd Helbing, the Supergirl spin-off puts Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) at the center of their efforts when balancing parenting with demanding jobs. The balance between saving the world with tight newspaper deadlines and raising wild twin cubs is sure to keep this dynamic duo on their toes and set the stage for an interesting journey. And given everything they went through in the crossover Crisis on Infinite Earths last year, we hope life in Smallville doesn’t get quite as traumatic.
With so many questions to be asked about the show, let’s grab all the information to keep you updated. Here’s everything we know so far about Superman and Lois.
Superman and Lois will arrive in 2021. Superman and Lois will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, February 28th at 9 / 8c, immediately following the season 7 premiere of The Flash.
Season 1 will consist of 13 episodes. The CW placed an order for 13 episodes for the Supergirl spin-off. With production schedules so tight due to the pandemic, it would be expected that the first season will be shorter than a normal superhero series.
Filming for the series began in the fall. Star Elizabeth Tulloch announced via Twitter that the cast had been quarantined in mid-September before filming in Vancouver. “The last of the cast landed in Vancouver today to start their quarantines. Close!” She wrote.
The show has recruited some strong minds behind the scenes. In addition to creating and writing the series, Helbing will serve as executive producer alongside Arrowverse architect Greg Berlanti, super producer Sarah Schechter, and former COO and producer Geoff Johns of DC Entertainment.
Get ready to watch Superman and Lois struggle with parenting. The series will follow the famous superhero and renowned journalist who explores the stress and complications that come with being a working parent in today’s world. According to Tolluch, we will see the couple in a different light.
“When Todd Helbing, our showrunner, told me the story for the pilot script for Superman & Lois, I got the chills,” Tolluch previously told TV Guide. “It’s so good and it’s something we’ve never seen them do before so I think it’s going to be great.”
The Infinite Earth Crisis confirmed that they have two sons – Jonathan and Jordan – which likely means the couple have twice as many problems. Commenting on Clark and Lois’ new challenge at DC’s Fandome, Helbing said, “I think as a dad who happens to have two boys, this felt like a great way to bring personal experiences and just tell a really different story.” “

The series has found its Lana Lang. Emmanuelle Chriqui will take on the iconic role previously played by Kristen Kreuk in Smallville. In Superman and Lois, Lana Lang-Cushing is a loan officer at Smallville Bank who stayed behind while everyone else pursued bigger and better things outside of the small town. According to Deadline, she reconnects with her old friend Clark Kent at a difficult time in her life.
The rest of the cast is starting to come together. Graceland’s Erik Valdez will play Lana’s husband Kyle Cushing, Smallville’s heroic fire chief who doesn’t like the big city and often bumps into people from there. In fact, Navarrette will also appear as Sarah Cushing, Lana, and Kyle’s super smart wild kid with some demons of their own who befriends Lois and Clark’s sons.
Additionally, Nip / Tuck and Blue Bloods alum Dylan Walsh will portray Lois’ father General Lane. The main concern of the General of the No Nonsense Army is to protect his country and the world from threats both inside and outside the planet. By deadline, he is a workaholic with high standards for everyone in his life, including his daughters Lois and Lucy. Glenn Morshower has previously portrayed the character in a recurring capacity on Supergirl.
We know at least one bad guy. Deadline reports that The Vampire Diaries alum Wolé Parks has joined the cast of Superman and Lois as the mysterious villain named The Stranger. All we know about this character so far is that he will be a visitor who wants to prove to the world that he no longer needs Superman.
The Superman suit gets a new look. At DC’s fandome, Helbing re-teased the legendary Superman costume. “Originally [Hoechlin] came for the crossovers and this suit wasn’t built to wear a series. And I think in everything we’ve talked about we have a fresh slate, “he said.” There’s going to be a really nasty Superman suit on this show that we’re pretty excited about. “
Superman wants you to wear a mask. A poster published by The CW shows the Man of Steel in a mask with the headline “Real Heroes Wear Masks”.
