We have a new look at Steppenwolf by Zack Snyder Justice League. Exactly three years ago today, the Justice League was released in theaters. Snyder decided to celebrate the occasion, and most importantly, his upcoming version of the DC Comics adaptation with a new black and white trailer as well as this new image of the malicious character. The picture gives us our best look at the redesign yet, which is quite different from what the audience saw when the film first hit theaters.

Zack Snyder shared the picture on Vero social networking site. It was released in anticipation of the new trailer and played up in addition to a live event by the filmmaker. As we can see, Steppenwolf has had a major overhaul, with new armor and a menacing look. Many fans struggled with the looks of the villains in the 2017 Justice League. The character, played by Ciaran Hinds, was dramatically changed by Joss Whedon, who took over after Snyder originally left the project. Whedon’s paraphrases and new additions have significantly changed the creative direction of the project. Steppenwolf’s look included.
There are still some unanswered questions about how Steppenwolf is used in The Snyder Cut. In the currently available version of the film, he’s the main antagonist. However, Darkseid, who was teased in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, will appear in Zack Snyder’s version, which will be released as a miniseries on HBO Max next year. Another important note is that Snyder says we only saw about a quarter of what will end in his version when all is said and done. That said, we got to see a lot more of Steppenwolf even if Darkseid made his way into the DCEU fold.

The Justice League received mixed reactions when it was originally released. The superhero film was a financial catastrophe for Warner Bros., in large part due to the enormous $ 300 million budget that resulted from the extensive new recordings. After its release, fans began asking the studio to “release the Snyder Cut online”. The campaign was relentless. Ultimately, this led to Zack Snyder returning to finish what he had started. Warner Bros. is expected to spend around $ 70 million to complete the project. The hope seems to be that it will help attract subscribers to HBO Max, which competes with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney + in the streaming game.
Part of the budget included a week of re-admissions that brought back Ben Affleck as Batman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amber Heard as Mera, and more. Jared Leto’s Joker also took part, which was quite surprising as he was not featured in the original film. Henry Cavill did not return as Superman for the re-admissions. Zack Snyder’s Justice League hasn’t set a release date yet, but it will hit HBO Max sometime in 2021. See for yourself the new photo originally shared on Zack Snyder’s Vero.
