Share Gojira video for new song “Amazonia”: Watch

French metal band Gojira shared the second single from their upcoming LP Fortitude. “Amazonia” comes with a music video by Charles De Meyer. The clip was shot in France and in various locations in Brazil. Check it out below.

For the video “Amazonia” De Meyer worked with several filmmakers, including Vincent Moon, Hauxplay, Jennifer Kumiko Hayashi and Midia Ninja, to get an unfiltered insight into the life of the indigenous tribes of Brazil. Gojira has also started the “Amazonia” fundraising campaign. The proceeds from the single will benefit the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB), who campaign for the environmental and cultural rights of indigenous tribes in the Amazon region who have experienced deforestation, land loss, forced labor, violence and harassment. Gojira will also curate a month-long charity campaign for the initiative, auctioning off unique items from the band and their friends.

“This is a call to unity,” said Gojira singer / guitarist Joe Duplantier in a press release. “The music community can be powerful when they band together for something so meaningful! So many friends, great artists and bands have joined the movement without hesitation by donating instruments. This is a collective effort by so many people around us! ” He added:

We don’t just want to release a song called “Amazonia” – we want to do something about it. As artists, we feel obliged to give people the opportunity to take action.

Fortitude will be released on April 30th via Roadrunner Records.
