Like the rest of the team at Mystery, Inc., the character of Velma Dinkley has been around for over 50 years. For the first time in the Hanna Barbera cartoon series Scooby-Doo, where are you?, Velma and her friends – Fred, Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo – have been running around solving puzzles of all kinds and doing fun things like exposing their suspects on the scene for as long as they’ve become icons of pop culture. In the past few years, the Scooby-Doo gang has gotten their own movies, including the 2002 live-action frenzy Scooby-Doo that saw it Linda Cardellini play Velma and the animated film 2020 Scoob!who presented Gina Rodriguez Slip into Velma’s shoes (and oversized specs).
