Pauly Shore needs Disney + to do Encino Man 2, says Brendan Fraser & Sean Astin are prepared

Are we finally going to get the sequel promised 28 years ago in the credits of the classic Pauly Shore comedy Encino Man? Pauly sure hopes so. Over the past week, the legendary comedian and former MTV presenter has been promoting Disney + on social media to finally pull and pull the trigger Encino Man 2. According to Pauly Shore, his former cast mates Sean Astin and Brendan Fraser, who he’s been close friends with since filming, are ready and ready to return.

Encino Man arrived in 1992 and stands in many ways as an important comedy. It was the first film in which Pauly Shore portrayed his weasel character and immediately catapulted him into a star. Although he was a breakout veejay on MTV and had already appeared in the long-lost cult classic Phantom of the Mall, along with eye-catching appearances on the hugely popular TV series Married … With Children and 21 Jump Street, Encino Man served as Pauly’s Introduced as a comedic lead in several successful comedy films.

Encino Man would also be Brendan Fraser’s introduction to the world after appearing in a handful of television films. Comedy immediately brought him to fame in the 90s. It also enabled Sean Astin to go from being a child actor to an established adult actor, and serves as an abyss for his later career, driving him into hit films like Rudy, The Lord of the Rings, and the hit TV show Stranger Things.

Encino Man is fondly remembered by all three actors. And Pauly Shore hit its social media hard, telling fans to urge Disney + to continue what they started in 1992. Paul Shore said this in his first Instagram post.

“Well Encino Man, do you remember that classic? How many people want to see Encino Man 2 ?! Hit Disney + on social media and let them know Brendan, Sean, and I are ready to go! Let’s do that 2021. Let’s Wiez the plum juice dooooooooodz. ”

Pauly Shore didn’t stop there. He would go for further support and advance the idea that Encino Man 2 definitely has to happen. Not as a theatrical release, but as a direct-to-streaming comedy made exclusively for Disney +. He continues to say that.

“These are the vibes we need right now !!! Encino Man 2. Come on @disneyplus, nobody’s left behind! Let’s have the positivity flow into Budzzz! Let’s spread that optimism! Let’s get the f *! # Cking juice weigh bro. @seanastin.

In addition to posting this Encino 2 message on his social media platforms, the legendary comedian also spoke to Looper about how his sequel dreams could come true. He had this to say about working on the film.

“When I made Encino Man, who directed Encino Man, Les Mayfield, years ago, he had never made a movie either. So sometimes you give people opportunities and it works.”

The original Encino Man ended with Brendan Fraser’s caveman friend thawing, which opened the way for a sequel. The scene with the reunited cave couple sharing a bath was immediately followed by a quick-credits scene in which Pauly Shore promised as Stoney Brown that he would be back. Unfortunately, Stoney Brown was no longer seen.

Encino Man 2 won’t be a direct sequel to mark its 30th anniversary. Originally there was talk of a sequel in which Stoney would be frozen and wake up in the distant future. It sounds like that idea has been abandoned for a story that would allow both Sean Astin and Brendan Fraser’s characters to return. While Stoney never got a follow-up film, Brendan Fraser repeated his role as Caveman Link in Shore’s successor son-in-law and later played Link as a soldier in Shores In the Army Now.

Disney + has not commented on Pauly Shore’s call to create a sequel to what is probably his most iconic movie. Shore was recently featured in The Guest House, which brought him back from the big screen to leading man status after a few years. He currently has his own podcast and several Youtube shows that are very popular with fans.

Brendan Fraser He currently stars as Cliff Steele (aka Robotman) on the hit HBO Max DC Comics superhero series Doom Patrol. He can be seen in Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming heist film, No Sudden Move, and will star in the science fiction romance Behind The Curtain of Night, which is currently in post-production and likely to have streaming debuts. Sean Astin Most recently, he appeared in several episodes of The CW’s Supergirl. He also has several independent films in post production. Encino Man 2 sounds like it could move forward with anyone who is ready and willing. Now it’s just up to Disney +.
