While this may not be the final design of the costume, the character already looks pretty weird and shows how closely the design team is connected to the source material and how well Steinfeld is in the role. In addition to revealing her superhero clothes, the set pictures suggest Kate Bishop will be thrown upside down into the action-packed world of the MCU, with Steinfeld’s face covered in scratches and bruises.

Hailee Steinfeld It has been rumored for some time that Kate Bishop will play the role of Kate Bishop. It was even reported once that Steinfeld had dropped out of the show, but with those set pictures confirming that she will in fact be taking on the Hawkeye coat, an arrangement has clearly been made and Steinfeld becomes Kate Bishop, the newest Avenger .

Bishop was created by Allan Heinberg and artist Jim Cheung for Marvel Comics. In 2005, Bishop first appeared in the first edition of Young Avengers. Much like Barton, she is a highly skilled archer and martial artist and has since fought alongside The Avengers alongside Cassie Lang, the daughter of Ant-Man, with both characters assuming the superhero roles of their predecessors.

The Hawkeye series appears to be heavily inspired by Matt Fraction’s comic run that began in 2012. In addition to Bishop and the lovable dog Lucky, the show will also treat Clint Barton’s hearing loss. Hawkeye, a key element in Fraction’s 22-issue series, loses his hearing during a fight with The Clown. The super villain stabs the avenger in both ears with his own arrows. An enlarged view of some of the newly released set images shows returning star Jeremy Renner looking like a tiny inner ear hearing aid, suggesting that Barton, who is deaf, is one similar to the comic book that inspired him will be an integral part of the story.

Several casting additions have recently been made to further prove that Fraction’s run will lay the foundation for Hawkeye, with actor Fra Fee appearing on the Disney + show as Kazi, which most likely represents Kazimierz Kazimierczak, the Marvel fans as a mercenary Villain known as The Clown. Unknown actor Alaqua Cox will also make her onscreen debut on the show as Maya Lopez AKA Echo, a Deaf Indian who is able to perfectly copy someone else’s movements who is likely to endorse Clint Barton.

In addition to Fee and Fox, Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, mother of Steinfeld’s Kate, and Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne AKA Swordsman, mentor Hawkeye, who was both a hero and a villain in the comics. Black Widow star Florence Pugh is also on board to repeat her role as Yelena Belova on the series. Hawkeye is expected to be released in late 2021 or early 2022 as part of the fourth phase of the MCU. These images are courtesy of XRealm Matthews.
