Tate McRae sends out 2020 in style.
The aspiring pop star started the year off releasing her debut EP, all the things I never said in January when the calendar was so promising for all of us. And while the year didn’t live up to our expectations, things certainly haven’t slowed down for Tate.
The EP with its lead single “tear me apart” (co-written by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell!), with over 10 million streams, # 16 on Billboard’s US Heatseekers Albums table, which highlights sales by new and developing recording artists. She followed suit with the release of her most successful single to date, “You Broke Me First,” which led a surge of TikTok popularity to her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaking at number 50.
And now the youngest musician to be on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list this year has released one final 2020 track, the ukulele-driven “ru ok”.
