Tom Cruise was commended for recently being taped yelling at crew members for violating safety protocols on the set of Mission: Impossible 7, but Leah Remini isn’t buying it. Remini, an outspoken critic of Cruise and the Church of Scientology for many years, posted an open letter on The Underground Bunker website condemning the actor’s behavior. According to Remini, the rant was nothing more than a PR stunt and only serves as evidence of Cruise’s “abusive” personality.
“”Tom Cruise claimed he didn’t even get a cold because of Scientology. All Scientologists believe that they will not get sick if they are not connected to what they call “suppressive persons”, “Remini says in the paper.” Everything you see of Scientology and Scientologists, like the wearing of masks and supposedly humanitarian efforts, is just a show. It’s just for publicity reasons. “
The Scientology and the Aftermath host adds Mission: Impossible 7 Covid scolds: “Tom’s reaction, published yesterday, shows his true personality. He is an abusive person. I saw it, I was a recipient of it on a small scale, and I was told about his former abuse girlfriend, his employees and his friends. This is the real Tom. “
In response to Remini’s claims, the Church of Scientology also issued a statement of its own.
“The Church of Scientology has promoted COVID-19 prevention efforts in the US and worldwide more than any other religious institution,” said a representative. “Long before the instructions to stay home, the Church took aggressive action to prevent the virus from spreading. The Church leader acted well ahead of the curve. Leah Remini is an unreliable source that attacks Scientology for advertising and money – as it has admitted. “
Other celebrities have also looked into the cruise situation. While promoting his next film, The Midnight Sky, on Howard Stern, George Clooney stated that he fully understood why Cruise reacted the way he did, even though he wouldn’t have done it personally.
“He hasn’t overreacted because it’s a problem,” said Clooney. “I wouldn’t have made it that big, I wouldn’t have pulled people out … I understand why he did it, he’s not wrong at all, I just don’t know if I would have done it so personally.”
View co-host Whoopi Goldberg also defended Cruise when he spoke of his abuse on the show, revealing that she, too, curses people “all the time.” Goldberg also compared the crew members who violated the protocol to essentially giving Cruise a “middle finger”. “I see,” said Goldberg. “This is his film, and if he goes down with COVID, the film will be done.”
Cruise’s viral chatter comes after Mission: Impossible 7, which was delayed several times over the year. Cruise is obviously frustrated with the possibility of stopping production and angrily hears crew members berating for unmasked and social distancing.
“If I see you do it again, you will be gone,” Cruise told them. “And if anyone on this crew does it, it is, and so are you, and so are you.” You can read Remini’s open letter in full in the Underground Bunker.
