Lana Del Rey defends new album cowl: “Sure, there are folks with shade”

Royal wool reflects her most recent album cover reveal.

The singer took to Instagram on Sunday January 10th and shared the artwork for her highly anticipated album Chemtrails Over the Country Club.

“There is always turbulence and upheaval and in the middle – there is always beautiful music,” she wrote the article. “I’m introducing my new album Chemtrails through the Country Club.”

Shortly after revealing the cover photo, which shows the star and a group of women gathered around an outdoor table, Lana added a comment to seemingly shield the shot from possible criticism.

“I would like to say that too, if everything goes well this year!” The 35-year-old Grammy-nominated performer wrote. “And no, that wasn’t intentional – these have been my best friends since you asked today. And damn it! How it happens when it comes to my amazing friends and this cover, yes, there are people with color on this record picture and that is all i am i will say about it, but thanks. “

She named some of the women who appeared on the cover with her and called the group a “nice mix of everything”.
