Judy Sheindlin will next wield her gavel for IMDb TV, the new home for her Judge Judy follow-up series.
With Judge Judy aiming to complete her 25-year run in 2021 – during which time she won three Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Legal / Judiciary Program, while her host received a Lifetime Achievement Award – Sheindlin’s next yet to be titled program (fka) Judy Justice) will introduce the “factual, quick Judge Sheindlin’s signature-scoring style with a new set of cases, litigation and judgments”.
“I am overjoyed to be in business with Amazon Studios and to continue this incredible journey with them on a new platform is so exciting,” Sheindlin said in a statement.
“I yelled at my husband Jerry about all of the packages he’d ordered from Amazon every day. I have enough mouthwash in the cupboards to keep the breath of the entire planet fresh for the next millennium, ”she quipped. “The doorbell never stops ringing. The dogs don’t even bark at the deliverers anymore. After I signed that deal, I apologized to Jerry. Who would have thought the Sheindlins and Amazonas would be Mishpacha? “
“Judge Judy Sheindlin is a TV icon and visionary who has entertained millions of fans for decades,” said Lauren Anderson and Ryan Pirozzi, co-heads of IMDb TV, in a statement. “As we build the IMDb TV blackboard using high quality, ambitious Amazon Studios originals, we are delighted to deliver our customers a trial program from legendary Judge Sheindlin who is without a doubt the best in the business.”
