Flux Pavilion takes on remixing tasks for “Upside Down” from Whethan & Grouplove

Flux Pavilion and Whethan teamed up for the first time in 2016 for the hit “Savage” with MAX, which has collected over 100 million games on Spotify alone. Now they’re (kind of) back together when Flux Pavilion was asked to remix one of Whethan’s album singles, “Upside Down” with Grouplove.

Since 2016, Flux Pavilion has seriously developed its “new” sound with the release of its album .wav at the beginning of this year and brings this unique sound to this remix. It’s a bit slower burn with more pronounced, structured melodies and beautiful progressions, taking advantage of the whimsical vocals from Grouplove and the original basics from Whethan.

“Flux was one of my favorite acts when I first made music,” says Whethan. “The first time I heard that I couldn’t stop, I was so excited that I knew I had to be involved in this world. This remix is a combination of so many different worlds and styles and I am honored that Flux wants to jump on the remix. “

Says Flux Pavilion, “As a huge Whethan fan since day one, it has been a pleasure to watch him explore his sound and his latest album is a treat. When I heard ‘Upside Down’ I immediately had an idea and the extraction from my brain was as organic as it could be. I don’t know what genre it is, but it feels right to me. “
