Cobra Kai’s Kick-Ass Season three Trailer Teases Daniel / Johnny Partnership, Sidesteps Ali Mills Cliffhanger
If this new Cobra Kai footage is any clue, season three of the Netflix phenomenon is going to be a kick and a scream.
The streaming giant released the first official trailer for season three of the Karate Kid sequel on Wednesday, and it appears the decades-long feud between Daniel LaRusso of Ralph Macchio and Johnny Lawrence of William Zabka is starting to cool.
“The only way to end this is to work together,” pleads Daniel Johnny and rejects her inevitable duel with Big Bad Kreese.
The big question in the new season: Will Elisabeth Shue repeat her film role as Ali Mills, ex-girlfriend of Daniel and Johnny, as has long been rumored. Given that season two ended with Johnny unwittingly receiving a Facebook friend request from her, all signs point to likely. However, the trailer is noticeably Ali-free.
According to the official season 3 recap on Netflix, “Everyone is staggering after the violent brawl between their dojos that left Miguel in a precarious state. While Daniel seeks answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese continues to manipulate his vulnerable students with his own vision of domination. The soul of the valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei depends on balance. “
Cobra Kai was originally a YouTube Premium series and was acquired by Netflix last June. Netflix underscored the series’ popularity and presented the show with an early season four renewal in October.
The third season of 10 episodes of Cobra Kai will premiere on January 8, 2021.
