While it’s one of the saddest Christmas movies ever, It’s a Wonderful Life is one of those classic movies that you can only love. There’s a reason people make a goal of rethinking the 1946 fantasy every Christmas season, and this year when the ghost is probably a little harder than usual to get involved in, it may be that perfect Christmas movie for our collective mood.
All you need to watch is a wonderful life this year is an Amazon Prime subscription as it is currently available on the streaming platform. You can also rent or buy from YouTube, iTunes, and Google Play.
For non-subscribers or those who would rather see it on TV, it is scheduled to air in the US Friday, December 11th at 8 p.m. ET and Saturday, December 12th at 8 p.m. ET. NBC will also continue its tradition of airing the film on Christmas Eve. Thursday, December 24th at 8 p.m. ET.
It is a wonderful life that is staged and co-written by Frank Capra. James Stewart plays George Bailey, a man on the verge of suicide on Christmas Eve who is visited by an angel who shows him what the world would have been like if he never existed. Yes it’s dark, but it’s worth it if you don’t mind being sad for two hours.
